An epic fortress that floats above the city, Dragoncrown is home to a powerful and mysterious conclave of dragons. The name of the conclave and the name of the structure are used interchangeably by most occupants of Threshold.

Dragoncrown is the location of the magic ritual that transforms humanoids into dragonborn. Those seeking to be transformed come here to petition and prove their worth.

At any given moment, Dragoncrown is occupied by at least a dozen dragons and hundreds of their dragonborn retainers. Also present are many members of other races that have come to curry favor with a dragon, ask a boon, or seek a safe place for their most valuable possessions.

Dragoncrown acts as a secure vault for the wealthy and powerful. It is considered the most secure location in the city, if not the world. The dragons of Dragoncrown, already unmatched in their raw power and opulent riches, have become even more powerful from acting as the world’s most trusted bankers.

The Key would very much like to stage a theft inside Dragoncrown, but they have yet to discover an exploitable weakness, much less a plan for surviving the wrath of the dragons that would surely follow.

The same is true of the Black Cabal.

The kobolds of Threshold view Dragoncrown as a blight upon the face of the world, but they lack the power or organization to do anything about it.
