Located at the bottom of the Black Stairs, the underground district of Shadowpool is among the most disturbing and dangerous locations in the city.

Shadowpool takes its name from the lake located at its center. The lake is fed from water dripping from the stalagtites that cover the ceiling. The waters of Shadowpool are exceedingly clear and the bottom is visible to anyone with a sufficient source of light. The lake is populated by blind albino fish that happen to be exceedingly carnivorous.

Shadowpool is a hub to many of the underground locations beneath Threshold.

Many dwarven expeditions searching for Valturan start in Shadowpool. Unfortunately, they often draw the attention of unsavory parties, who track and ambush them, then loot their remains.
