Valturan is the legendary and perhaps mythical home of the dwarves native to Threshold.

The dwarven clans that hail from Threshold built much of the city–in fact, much of civilization as it is known throughout the world–while enslaved by the giants of the Empire. Most scholars believe that those dwarves were brought to Threshold in chains from all corners of the world. But some believe otherwise. They say that Threshold was built atop Valturan, a dwarven kingdom of extraordinary wealth and sophistication located deep underground. Still others believe that Valturan was built by runaway dwarves during the time of the Empire, played a critical role in the apocalyptic battle that overthrew the giants, and was subsequently lost to the ages.

Whatever the truth, there are many dwarven expeditions–and at least a few from The Adventurous–that have vanished beneath the city while seeking Valturan.
